New OTP from an unlikely fandom!
...Unlikely in that I never thought I'd ship anyone from the Pokémon fandom. I mean seriously, the games gave little to no hints of any romance whatsoever and honestly, I was pretty content being ignorant of all of the shipping that was happening since I only thoroughly enjoyed the games/anime and never took part in the community sans grade school. But even in grade school, no one talked about shipping (never even knew there was a thing back then) and only ever spazzed about the games and trading cards. XD *shrug* No love lost, but man, did I fall hard for this ship. Let's blame this ship and Pokémon Special for the reason why I'm in love with the games again.

Volkner and Jasmine. Volkner is the eighth and final Gym Leader of the Sinnoh region while Jasmine is the sixth Gym Leader of the Johto region who comes to Sinnoh to take part in the Pokémon Super Contests. Funnily enough, in the games (Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum), you can find Jasmine in Sunyshore City which is Volkner's hometown. Granted, neither Gym Leader have actual contact (so this is probably considered crack), but I'm sure you can see where all the 'shipper logic' is coming from. I actually don't care if this is crack or not; it has some sense compared to some of the other crack pairings (in general) I've seen in the fandom. Besides, I've already conjured up lots of ideas of how Volkner and Jasmine would meet, fall in love, and have babies have to deal with a long distance relationship. :3 Not sure if I will ever get those ideas in fanfic format, but it's fun imagining the scenarios regardless. LOL

It's kinda funny how I even dived into this ship. To keep the story short, it started back in May where I started playing the games and reread the manga again after watching my brother play Black 2. For some oddball reason, I was thinking, "You know, I like Volkner; and seeing Jasmine in Sunyshore was awesome. I wonder why?" The obvious answer is that Game Freak added Jasmine to DPPt as a nod that, yes, Pokémon Gold and Silver were being remade into HeartGold and SoulSilver, but I was curious if there was even fanfiction (platonically or romantically) about Volkner and Jasmine. So what do I do? Go to FFN, search Volkner and Jasmine in the Pokémon category, and huzzah; the rest is history. Damn man, fanfiction totally gave this pairing life for me. XD To be honest, I actually do not want to get too involved with Pokémon shipping for various reasons (the complexity, multitude, and awkwardness of ship names being one of them), but I guess I can't help it. I'm already in love with a lot of Pokémon Special manga ships, but I'm going to try and limit my ships because then, I'll go crazy. xD Volkner/Jasmine though, otherwise known as Alexandrianshipping (See? Crazy...), is definitely my Gym Leader OTP. *shot shot shot*

On the picture: honestly, I wasn't even trying to make a Volkner/Jasmine picture. xD I just started doodling them together. I thought it would be too plain without a background, so I made them stand on the beaches of Sunyshore. Needless to say, the background is boring/plain and I will agree with you if you say that. I was also practicing painting in SAI, but like always, I'll need improvement. Still, I'm actually quite happy with it for a first attempt. Thank you DA tutorials! I tried to do lineless coloring, but I actually find that a little hard. xD; Practice makes perfect, but I'm a lot more comfortable when there's a visible lineart.
